What say you, Chippewa Vallians: Can Menomonie locals Stacy and Dan Lang snag the No. 1 spot in the “America’s Favorite Couple” campaign?

The philanthropic competition– a collaboration between campaign organizer Colossal and Variety Magazine – is a nationwide campaign with significant prizes on the line, hosted by actor Jeff Goldblum.

Today is the last day of voting for the quarter finals – the local couple made it through the first six rounds of the competition, which started back in June – and the Langs are currently in 11th place. They need to gain enough votes to land in the No. 1 spot in their group of finalists, to advance to the semifinals (which runs Aug. 22-Aug. 28).

“What started as an Instagram ad that I applied to, now has turned into something that we have a real shot at,” Stacy shared online. “After many rounds, we are now top competitors, and it will take the support of all of you to help us get to number one!”

Stacy, a local chef known for her many cuisine collaborations with Brewery Nonic and Hive & Hollow, met her now-husband in the way you’d expect: Outside Stacked Eatery, Stacy’s former brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Three years later, they ran into each other once again and, as they tell it, “kissed in a ditch, fell madly in love, and haven’t spent a day apart since.”

The competition’s prize includes a chunk of change – $20,000 to be exact – with a photoshoot resulting in an advertorial in Variety Magazine. The competition will also benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana, an international conservation advocacy organization.

The winning couple will be determined by number of votes. A single vote is free to submit, daily, online at americasfavcoupleorg. Voters may also donate money in order to stack up their votes (i.e. $10 equals 20 votes, $25 equals 50 votes, etc.), with today's voting ending at 9pm CT.

Yes, the "America's Favorite Couple" campaign competition is real, and donations are tax deductible. Read more about it at Variety.com and view the rules of the competition online.
