With just over a month under their belts, Kayla and Quincy Turpin and Joe and Sara David – local neighbors-turned-business-partners – describe the feeling of finally opening Eau Claire’s newest kids play park in two words: gratitude and pride.
After over a year of anticipation, families officially experienced 4 Treasures Adventure Park (2615 Mall Dr., Eau Claire) for the first time on April 16. The brand-new 18,000-square-foot building is jam-packed with 10,000 square feet of interactive play spaces.
The nautical-themed playground has everything from traditional playground slides to mini fairground-style slides; exhibits styled after the post office, doctor’s office, and other real-life spaces; obstacle-course inspired zones; and so much more.
As the idiom goes, hindsight is 20/20, and just about every entrepreneur could speak to the incredible life of launching a business – and that’s not including the unforeseeable stuff, like unexpected construction delays and regular life happenings.
"We're filled with gratitude; for the families who've supported us, for our team – we have an amazing staff – and for everyone who has believed in this dream for us. Honestly, it still feels surreal."

“Bringing our vision to life meant lots of late nights, navigating opening delays, fine-tuning every detail, and making what felt like a million decisions together! We won’t pretend it was easy – balancing work, family, and launching a new business was a huge undertaking,” Kayla Turpin said. “But what truly made the difference was that our two families, who are best friends, got to do this together.
“We’re filled with gratitude; for the families who’ve supported us, for our team – we have an amazing staff – and for everyone who has believed in this dream for us. Honestly, it still feels surreal," she said.
The Turpin and David families are next-door neighbors, each with their own kiddos – the business’s name refers to their own “4 treasures,” the Turpins’ seven-year-old twins and the Davids’ eight-year-old and six-year-old.
Kayla said their kids were a constant reminder for them all, of why they were entering a new era of entrepreneurship: “to build a space where families can connect, laugh, and make memories.”
Since opening, Kayla said public response has been incredible, and kids have been especially drawn to the fairground-style donut slide and Play Town. “Seeing it all come to life this last month and watching families enjoy the space has made every bit of effort completely worth it!”

With pretty much anything kids-related, one question comes to mind: how do you keep play safe, and play spaces clean?
At 4 Treasures, daily cleaning and bi-weekly deep cleans are built into the team’s processes: throughout each day, spot cleaning is done with special attention to the “high-touch areas,” Kayla said, using non-toxic cleaning supplies. With unique play areas like the ball pit, 4 Treasures invested in a specialized machine that sucks up each individual ball, taking about one hour to completely wash and sanitize the whole pit.
“(We’re) proud, because this space represents so much more than just a business," Kayla said. "It’s a reflection of our values, our vision for families, and the impact we want to make on this community.”
4 Treasures is open seven days per week, with memberships and daily play passes available. Monthly memberships for unlimited play at 4 Treasures starts at $30/month and increases by $20/month per each additional child, while daily passes for unlimited play are also available for $10 per child.
