CHOIRS OF CLASSIC ROCK: I Want to Know What... It’s Like to Sing with Foreigner
area choirs can enter 'Foreigner Choir Contest' for a chance to sing 'I Want to Know What Love Is' with the legendary band this summer

The leap from school choir to being an epic rockstar isn’t as far as it seems – especially for middle and high school choirs in the Chippewa Valley. Area choirs now have the opportunity to compete for the chance to sing with famed classic rockers Foreigner this summer at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair on Saturday, July 12.
Hosted by local radio station Greatest Hits 98.1 and the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, local choirs can compete by showing off their rock 'n' roll skills, through video. Choirs can submit a recording singing any Foreigner song – by April 13 – to be considered.
Once submissions are reviewed by the Greatest Hits 98.1 and Mid-West Family Eau Claire staffers, public voting will begin online on April 21. Each person can cast one vote before the final day of online voting for the contest, Sunday, May 4.
The winning choir will sing the iconic power ballad, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” with Foreigner, live on stage at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair.
The winner of the “Foreigner Choir Contest” won’t just get to sing with these classic rock legends (which is pretty freakin' cool as is) – they will also receive a $500 donation from Foreigner. The winning choir will also have their own featured performance at the fair’s Front Porch Stage.
