Most recently home to Riverside Cafe (open for about one year before closing) but best known as the former Quick Wok, 501 Water St. will soon open its doors as a new eatery: Chubby's. That's right. A name with just as much personality as the food they will serve.

The latest trendy food is constantly changing with the waves of influence, and while Chubby's aims to pay attention to those things, their plan is to offer street-style fusion food from a mix of cultures. Ace, owner of Chubby's, said their goal is to "bring together the best flavors from across the globe."

Chubby’s will aim to stay ahead of the curve by bringing in new flavors regularly, keeping the menu fresh and exciting. To achieve this, they have a “Trending Bites Menu” which will feature limited time items inspired by food trends.

The debut menu at Chubby’s will offer a variety of egg rolls – including breakfast, cheeseburger, pizza, and other kinds of rolls – skewers, sliders, hot dogs, loaded fries, and more. The prices range from about $3-$7 per item.

Water Street is usually a bustling place – day and night – but Chubby’s will be adding their own twist to the area's food scene. Ace said they are trying to redefine what "fast food" looks like, with interesting, bold flavors and quick, convenient service.

Chubby’s (501 Water St., Eau Claire) is hoping to open sometime in March, and once open, will have regular hours of Tuesday-Thursday, 11am-9pm; Friday-Saturday, 11am-1am, and Sunday, 11am-9pm. Keep up with Chubby's on Facebook (@ChubbysEauClaire).
