What do the bands The Black Crowes, Wang Chung, Collective Soul, and LIVE have in common? That may sound like a riddle, but it isn’t. There are two answers: The first is “Not very much.” The second is they’re all part of the lineup of the new Summer Jam music festival.

Those performers – as well as singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw and hip-hop duo MKTO – were announced as part of the festival’s lineup on Tuesday. They join previously announce headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd, Everclear, Marshall Tucker Bank, and Rick Springfield to form what is a purposefully eclectic schedule for the festival, which makes its debut June 20-21 at the Eau Claire Event District (also known as the new home of Country Jam).

Rather than select bands of a particular genre, organizers sought to create “a celebration of summer vibes with a diverse lineup of artists,” a media release stated.

"We're really looking for Summer Jam to be a celebration of Wisconsin summer. We wanted artists who you’ve been rocking out to on your pontoon or with your windows down for years,” Festival Director Jake Lynch said. “With our incredible new grounds and the experiences we’ve built around Country Jam and the Eau Claire Event District, we are very excited to bring Summer Jam to the stage this summer!"

On top of all those performers and their decade-spanning roster of hits, Summer Jam will also include food trucks, beer vendors, camping, and plenty of summer games and activities. It’s all the kind of thing that sweet summer memories are made of.

Tickets – including general admission, VIP, and other ticketing tiers – are already available online at summerjamwi.com.
