Eau Claire Parks, Recreation & Forestry has announced that the Roosevelt, Boyd, and Putnam Heights warming shelters and outdoor skating rinks are open effective Friday, Jan. 3.

The warming shelter hours of operation will be 4-7pm Monday through Friday, and noon-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Pinehurst Park warming shelter will open effective Monday, Jan. 6. The Pinehurst warming shelter hours will be 4-7pm Monday through Friday, and noon-7pm on Saturday and Sunday. The general ice rink, the hockey rink, and the Crokicurl rink will all be open.

Pinehurst warming shelter and outdoor rinks are not open yet, as the rinks need more time to recover from the warm, rainy weather, the city said in a media release. An update on the status of Pinehurst is expected to be released the week of Jan. 6.

Residents are reminded to please stay off outdoor rinks if they are covered in standing water.
