LACE 'EM UP. Several Eau Claire outdoor skating rinks and warming houses are opening up on Friday, Jan. 3. Pinehurst, pictured, will not yet be open to the public, with an update on the situation to come next week.

Eau Claire Parks, Recreation & Forestry has announced that the Roosevelt, Boyd, and Putnam Heights warming shelters and outdoor skating rinks are open effective Friday, Jan. 3.

The warming shelter hours of operation will be 4-7pm Monday through Friday, and noon-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Pinehurst warming shelter and outdoor rinks are not open yet, as the rinks need more time to recover from the warm, rainy weather, the city said in a media release. An update on the status of Pinehurst is expected to be released the week of Jan. 6. 

Residents are reminded to please stay off outdoor rinks if they are covered in standing water.
