Blue Ox Music Festival Taps Greensky Bluegrass, Orville Peck, Margo Price for 2025 Lineup
20+ artists unveiled as part of 11th annual bluegrass and Americana festival lineup
Locals and long-distance travelers alike will return to The Pines Music Park in Eau Claire from June 26-28 for the 11th annual Blue Ox Music Festival – following last summer's milestone-marker year and heavy hitter-filled lineup, which included Sierra Ferrell, Band of Horses, Sam Bush Band, Molly Tuttle and her band Golden Highway, and many others – which is shaping up to be one of its best yet.
Blue Ox announced a majority of the 2025 festival's lineup with an impressive array of diverse, genre-bending artists and returning favorites – featuring Midwestern and local faves Them Coulee Boys, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Charlie Parr, Sam Bush Band, and others – including hosts (and performers) Pert Near Sandstone.
In a welcome return, Greensky Bluegrass will bless the Main Stage, sure to bring their latest project's – 2024's The Iceland Sessions – magic with them; The masked man of Americana, Orville Peck, is perhaps one of the more surprising artists part of the lineup, and will make his Blue Ox debut following his scene-shaking debut Pony (2019) and latest album Stampede (2024); and Margo Price, a cemented mainstay after her groundbreaking 2016 project Midwest Farmer's Daughter, will rock The Pines in the remedying rock 'n roll flavor she does best.
The legendary, award-winning artist Peter Rowan will return to Blue Ox with the Sam Grisam Project, set to offer a truly special performance in celebration of Old & In The Way and Rown's own extensive catalogue.
Breakthrough artist Alynda Segarra, aka Hurray for the Riff Raff, is another welcome surprise to the festival's lineup. Segarra has absolutely rocked the Americana scene with their release of The Past Is Still Alive earlier this year, the project nominated for Album of the Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards plus a long list of praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Vogue, NPR, and others.
Fans can get a taste of what's to come by tuning into the Road to Blue Ox podcast, hosted by members of Pert Near Sandstone, anywhere you listen to podcasts. Plus, a visual experience of Blue Ox will be premiering soon, thanks to a collaboration between Blue Ox and Volume One.
"Volume One Magazine has produced a mini-documentary capturing the essence of the festival from its meager and muddy beginnings, to being one of the top music festivals in the country. In the coming weeks, we can look forward to seeing the short film creatively telling the story of Blue Ox Music Festival's journey and its commitment to the music, artists, and environmental experience," a recent media release stated.
