Wingstop Shoots For Spring 2025 Opening in Eau Claire
national chicken chain will open first location in northwestern Wisconsin around March
If you’ve taken a glance around while stuck at a light along Clairemont Avenue and Stein Boulevard in Eau Claire, you’ve probably noticed development occurring near Caribou Coffee. Earlier this year, Panera Bread was confirmed as the first tenant of the new retail strip at 813 W. Clairemont Ave., and now another has been announced: Wingstop.
The location will be the chicken chain’s first in the Chippewa Valley and northwestern Wisconsin, and is slated to open as early as March 2025. NAI Commonweal Director of Brokerage Ryan Erickson said they have been in talks with Wingstop for about one year to find the right space in town for the chain.
Wingstop will not be in the same building as Panera Bread (which is that chain’s second location in Eau Claire; the first is at 4601 Keystone Crossing) – which still has a 1,300-square-foot space for another tenant – but in the new building right next to it. It will be open for carryout and dine-in, and is about 1,700 square feet. Erickson said Commonweal hopes to announce another national chain tenant for the new sites in the coming months.
Specializing in chicken wings, Wingstop boasts more than a dozen flavors (both wet and dry) including Hot Honey Rub, Garlic Parmesan, Lemon Pepper, Spicy Korean Q, and its hottest variety: Atomic.
Beyond chicken wings – which you can buy in bulk and by-the-piece, including a 100-wing option – Wingstop offers chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, several loaded fries options, and more.
