The Young Writers Showcase, a celebration of the written word for area youth, was held at the Grand Theatre in Eau Claire on Sunday, Oct. 20, as part of the Chippewa Valley Book Festival.
Eighteen young authors had their original works selected to be published in the Chippewa Valley Book Festival’s booklet. They were also invited to read their winning entries, which spanned the genres of fiction, nonfiction, prose, and poetry. Blake Westerlund, an assistant professor of English at UW-Eau Claire, served as emcee for the program.
