A contest hosted by an Eau Claire auto dealership will mean money in the pockets for both local artists and a local charity. The fourth annual Prestige of Art & Community Contest kicked off in late September and will run through Friday, Nov. 1.

Participating artists are asked to create a piece of artwork inspired by a Chippewa Valley charity or organization. For instance, art inspired by the humane association could include dogs and cats.

While the medium is up to the artist – and may include acrylics, oils, charcoal, collage, etc. – the artwork may not be larger than 36-by-36 inches. Artwork must be submitted to Prestige Auto at 3525 Highway 93, Eau Claire, by Nov. 1.

Once submissions are finalized, public voting will run Nov. 4 to 29. Voting will be conducted via the Prestige Auto Facebook page as well as in person at the dealership.

The three artists with the most votes will be announced Nov. 12. The first-place winner will receive $500, second place will receive $300, and third place $200. The first-place winner will have their painting displayed at Prestige Nov. 18-30, and during that time donations will be collected for the charity depicted in the artwork. Afterward, Prestige will match these donations up to $5,000. All proceeds will go directly to the charity.

Artists who want to learn more about the contest or to see a full list of official rules are asked to contact Madeline Nelson at mnelson@prestigeautocorp.com or (715) 839-5421.
