After 22 years of operation at the corner of North Bridge and West Birch in downtown Chippewa Falls, the 4:30am Coffee House owners closed the brick-and-mortar shop, walked out its doors for the final time, and hopped into a food truck.

As co-owners Brenda Sawyer and Tracy Heidtke said goodbye to their longtime shop, with Sawyer entering retirement, Heidtke got the mobile machine up and running. 4:30am On the Go will continue to be a fixture around the historic town, but they will also be bringing their popular scones and espresso to various spots across the Chippewa Valley.

Heidtke had already been thinking about buying a food truck to run in conjunction with the physical store, so when an offer was made on the coffee shop, everything just fell into place – it seemed the food truck venture was meant to be. Now operating as 4:30am On the Go, Heidtke said she hopes to be serving their thoughtfully crafted recipes and beverages by mid-August.

If you were a regular at the downtown C.F. location, you will be happy to know that your favorite foods will still be available. Heidtke said a condensed version of the former menu will be available from the truck, featuring all the fan favorites, including their Cinna Twirl rolls, New York Iced Coffee, and their house salad with its amazing poppyseed dressing.

Just know that this coffee shop on wheels will make you question what your favorite scone flavor is.  Customers will have to visit a few times to decide among chocolate chip, cinnamon peach, mixed berry, chocolate peanut butter, raspberry white chocolate, or one of the new, yet-to-be featured treats.

While 4:30am On the Go can be spotted at local sporting venues and events, they are not limiting their opportunities to serve customers to those happenings. Check out their Facebook page to see where they might be landing for a day out and about near you.
