THE BREW IS BACK. Modicum Brewing, formerly located at 3732 Spooner Ave., Altoona, announced it will be revived once more about its abrupt closure last fall. 

Last summer, after roughly six years in Altoona, Modicum Brewing Co. announced a major transition into what would have been a relocation and expansion into Eau Claire, at The 1106 (Artisan Forge). However, those plans abruptly fell through, and Modicum instead closed its doors last fall. Today, the beloved brewery made a surprise social media post announcing its plans to "relaunch."

“Good things come to those who wait, and sometimes opportunity comes knocking when you least expect it,” Modicum Brewing's June 4 social media post began. “We are incalculably happy to share that we are relaunching Modicum Brewing Co.” 

According to the post, another local brewery, K Point Brewing at The Coffee Grounds (4212 Southtowne Drive, Eau Claire), will be phasing out as its Head Brewer Tom Breneman enters retirement. Phasing in will be Modicum Brewing's Eric Rykal, stepping into the Head Brewer position, promising “old favorites as well as some new concoctions” at the new spot. 

Modicum Brewing's official re-launch party will be Tuesday, July 9, at its soon-to-be location in Eau Claire. Welcome back, Modicum!

We are pleased to announce that we are in the process of taking over the K Point Brewing location inside the The Coffee Grounds. As Tom from K Point transitions into retirement, Eric will be taking the helm and brewing some old favorites as well as some new concoctions. We couldn’t be more excited to share our beers with you once more.

This new partnership with our friends at The Coffee Grounds is a perfect fit, allowing us to enhance the Modicum Taproom experience with food, wine, spirits, and great atmosphere.

Over the last 7 years, it’s been an incredible experience to watch a rich, vibrant community grow around our tiny brewery. Strangers have become regulars, regulars have become family. We cannot wait to share in that sense of community once more, and to see all of your smiling faces again.

We have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time, but we can’t wait to welcome you to our new home at 4212 Southtowne Drive very soon.
