It’s felt oddly spring-like for most of the new year thus far, but now that spring is officially upon us, here are a handful of our picks for you and the kids to really get into the spring spirit in the Chippewa Valley!

1. 20th Annual Govin's Lambing Barn & Farm Babies

Folks wait all year to head out to Govin’s Farm for this local favorite. The opportunity to snuggle on newborn lambs, baby goats, piglets, and baby chicks is just too good to miss! The farm is open to all ages, and children ages 2 and under get in free. Concessions are sold too, offering fun snacks like apple cider donuts and kettle corn, among others. Plus, ride a pony and hop on the giant slide while you’re there for an additional fee. Take a drive to the farm for a morning or afternoon of springtime fun and animal cuteness!

Free for kids ages 2 and under, $13-$15 for others • Govin's Farm (N6134 670th St., Menomonie) • March 23-24, 29-30, April 6-7, 13-14

2. Spring Kids Sports Movies

Not only are you able to take advantage of low ticket prices – just $3/ticket! – but different family-friendly movies will be showing every single weekend through March. Catch classics Field of Dreams (March 23, 24) and Space Jam (March 30, 31) during the final two weeks of the month.

$3 • Micon Cinemas Oakwood Mall • Every Saturday + Sunday until March 31, 11am

3. Rising Stars Open Mic Night

This free event at The Lakely happens monthly and invites kids ages K-12 to get a taste of the stage! Welcome to perform music, dance, sing, and show off their talents, get into the spring spirit by trying something new or freshening up those stage skills. Grab a bite to eat while you’re at it.

FREE • The Lakely (516 Galloway St., Eau Claire) • First Wednesday of each month, 5-6:30pm

4. The Eras Party

Calling all Swifties: Shake off the winter blues with this upcoming event, Taylor Swift fans are invited to hang out at the downtown Eau Claire library for an afternoon of making friendship bracelets, playing Swiftie-themed games to win prizes, and more, all for free! Open to kids in grades 7-12, dress up and make some new friends at this Swiftie party.
