RCU Board Member to Helm National Credit Union Foundation Board
Sackett is a longtime leader in credit union movement

A member of the Royal Credit Union Board of Directors has been elected chairperson of the National Credit Union Foundation’s Board of Directors.
John Sackett, the retired director of finance for the Eau Claire Area School District, has been involved with Eau Claire-based RCU for many years, and previous served as chairperson of of the RCU board for 17 years. He joined the National Credit Union Foundation board in 2016 and previously served as its secretary and vice-chair.
“I am humbled to have been elected by my fellow board members to serve as chair,” Sackett said. “I look forward to continuing to support the Foundation’s efforts to promote financial well-being for all.”
According to a media release, the Foundation “is the charitable arm of the U.S. credit union movement and works as a catalyst to improve people’s financial lives through credit unions. Through grants and programs, the Foundation is strengthening financial well-being, igniting passion, and instilling knowledge about the credit union difference.”
Sackett and other board members were ratified at the Foundation’s recent annual meeting.
Royal Credit Union services more than 300,000 members in 26 counties in western Wisconsin and 16 counties in Minnesota.
