see the art yourself at the Riverside Parking Ramp
Eau Claire continues to rock months after the new alternative rock music festival, Reverb, launched the Eau Claire Event District (5775 20th Ave.) on Aug. 19. During the festival – which featured performances by All Time Low, The Maine, Mayday Parade, Plain White T’s, and more – 12 local artists took to making murals live.
These murals, which range in subject matter, can now be viewed on the side of the Riverside Parking Ramp at Graham Avenue and Gray Street in downtown Eau Claire. The installation of the murals was a collaboration between city staff and Visit Eau Claire, City Manager Stephanie Hirsch said.
View large-scale painted skulls, images of bugs, abstract designs, and even a depiction of a Connect 4 game, amongst others. The muralists showcased in the project include Courtney Struchen, Erika Crotty (Empetus Art), Brittany Thomas, Teagan Wagner, Kala Rehberger, Kendra Johnson, Lillian Hoeschen, Rebecca Mennecke, Jessica Knapp, Kelsey M. Wenberg, Sylvia Hecht, and Jo Ellen Burke with The Public Painting Project.
Interested in learning about each piece of art? ColorBlock – the local outdoor mural exhibition, a part of the Eau Claire Sculpture Tour and Visit Eau Claire – will be showcasing each mural on their Facebook page. ColorBlock says the murals will continue to hang in their spot for the foreseeable future, as long as they stay vibrant.
