Rose Dolan-Neill has been named the new executive director of Girls on the Run Chippewa Valley, which serves hundreds of girls in schools across Buffalo, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin, and Trempealeau counties.

Girls involved in the organization participate in an eight-week after-school program that teaches lessons on goal-setting, friendship, and emotional and physical health. In addition to its curriculum, the girls, together with their volunteer coaches, train for an annual 5K celebratory run. Next year’s celebratory run will be on Saturday, May 11, in Carson Park.

Dolan-Neill has 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as both a leader and volunteer. Most recently, she served as assistant director of visual and literary arts at the Pablo Center at the Confluence for five years. Before that, for 10 years she was the volunteer coordinator and gallery director of the Eau Claire Regional Arts Council. She brings a strong appreciation for running, a major element of the school-based program, and a professional background that includes working with children and families.

“We are thrilled that Rose will lead this next chapter of our organization,” noted Sarah Fabiny, Board Chair for Girls on the Run Chippewa Valley.

“I am excited to be part of an organization that connects with girls at a critical stage in their lives,”  Dolan-Neill said. “Our program addresses the whole girl when she needs it the most and works to strengthen her confidence at a time when society begins to impose added pressures.”
