With its bright, vivid decor and 99-cent Margarita Monday specials, Casa Margarita’s southside Eau Claire location has become a Tex-Mex staple. As of Monday, Dec. 4, folks closer to E.C.’s west side are able to easily get a taste themselves thanks to the opening of a second location.

Casa Margarita’s new location, 2106 N. Clairemont Ave. (formerly Eau Juicy), serves a similar menu with some additions as well as a different take on its interior design. With a more sleek and simple, black-and-white theme running through the restaurant, pops of color adorn the walls thanks to handmade murals and tabletop art.

The roughly 12,600-square-foot building has been the location of many ventures since it was erected in 1965, including Local Lounge, the Seahorse Inn, and most recently Eau Juicy, which closed its E.C. location in 2022. For the Casa Margarita family, years of business in the Chippewa Valley and extra care put into the space – including repaving the parking lot, acquiring new kitchen equipment, and more – will hopefully be the difference.

“We wanted to look to another side of Eau Claire and we looked at another location – the old Red Coal BBQ building – but didn’t really love it,” owner Cesar Lopez Jacinto said. “(This building) was more challenging (than the southside location) because we did a lot to renovate it, but everybody’s liked the atmosphere so far.”

Cesar said a few additions to the menu were dreamed up by cooking and taste-testing with his parents, and he decided to go with a different color scheme to distinguish the new location from its Southside counterpart.

“People expressed wanting more on this side of town,” he said. “Now we’re expanded and there’s more opportunity for people to try Casa Margarita, and we’re really happy to be here.”

Casa Margarita’s second location is open Monday-Sunday from 11am-10pm.
