Inspire, dream, motivate, empower, trust, achieve, believe, create, pursue. Those are all of the words showcased on a new mural in Eau Claire, also one of the city's largest. Located on the side of the Prevail Bank (2225 Fairfax St.) building in Eau Claire, the mural comes in at 14 feet tall and 52 feet long.

The mural was designed by Prevail employee Sarah Young, who created it to be an interactive mural where people can “make a wish” and contemplate the possibility of those wishes. Julie Pangallo from Visit Eau Claire reached out to local muralists Jaden “Jayflo” Flores and Chris Johnson to complete the mural. This is the first mural in Eau Claire that the two local artists have collaborated on.

“Having someone who knows how to paint (murals) help me with it goes a long way,” Jayflo said.

The blue background has a sort of stipple effect, which is from Jayflo and Chris dabbing the wall all over with sponges. Jayflo then used spray paint to create the large flower while Chris focused on the lettering.

Even though the mural only took three days to paint, Jayflo and Chris were met with the extremes of Wisconsin weather. “It was like 80 degrees and I think we were both shirtless using spray paint cans out in the sun, and then two days later when we finished it, we were both wearing gloves and it was 40 degrees,” Johnson recalled.

This collaborative mural can now be enjoyed by the community, so make sure to stop by and snap a photo with it or merely enjoy its presence.
