The world of The Last Outpost is about to come to life on a local stage as Two Griffins Theatre Co.’s production will light up The Grand Theatre (102 W Grand Ave., Eau Claire) from Nov. 17-19.

James Finn, a member of the band ToM and co-founder – along with his wife, Christine – of Two Griffins Theatre Co., wrote and is directing the play which stars Meg Hammes-Murray, Josh Hammes-Murray, Lance Harris, and Chris Finn. The production will include two to three songs from ToM’s newest album with the same name, which was released in May.

“One of the songs was created to be in the play,” Finn said. “And then the other ones (were chosen) when working through the piece and figuring out which ones will really embellish what's happening on stage.”

The Last Outpost is a modern-day, apocalyptic take on folklore where three soldiers returning from their final mission make camp for the night and the evening turns tragic.

The production is firmly in the rehearsal stage, and Finn says it wouldn’t have been possible without the cast – which are regulars in Two Griffins productions – and the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild for their help with costumes.

Tickets for the show are on sale now through the Chippewa Valley Theater Guild and are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Anyone interested in streaming the ToM album can do so on Apple Music and Spotify.
