Community Foundation of Dunn County Awards Nearly $40,000 in Latest Cycle
August 2023 recipients were awarded at the end of September at the Evening of Gratitude event
Founded in 1995, the Community Foundation of Dunn County has promoted and fostered charitable giving to enhance the quality of life in the area, supporting various organizations and programs through funding. The Foundation celebrated its Evening of Gratitude on Sept. 28, where its August grant recipients were honored.
Twelve organizations were recognized at the event and $38,334 in grant funding was awarded.

- Stepping Stones of Dunn County | $3,200
- Wisconsin Milkweed Alliance (WIMA) | $1,920
- Chippewa Valley Council - Boy Scouts of America | $1,614
- Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes (GSNWGL) | $2,500
- Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Northwest Area | $3,500
Application deadlines for competitive grants, offered twice per year by the foundation, are Feb. 1 and Aug. 1. Typical award amounts range from $500 to $5,000 or more for the competitive grants, with additional offerings such as academic and special interest scholarships, the Women’s Giving Circle grants, and more also available by application.
The Community Foundation of Dunn County’s annual fundraising gala, Jeans & Jewels, is slated for Saturday, Nov. 4. The event will be held at the UW-Stout Memorial Student Center, and is still accepting donations for the gala’s auctions, raffles, and Dessert Dash. Tickets to attend the event are $90 for an individual, $160 for a couple, and $600 for a table of eight people.
