Downtown Eau Claire’s bookstore, Dotters Books, has been hosting Story Time events for years, and that offering has continued at its new location on Barstow Street. In fact, folks are invited for Story Time every weekend through at least the end of the year!
Story Time at Dotters is held every Saturday at 10:30am (unless announced otherwise) with two books ready to dive into.
With a full section of kids-dedicated books and hangout space in Dotters – complete with a half-circle reading nook, kid-sized rocking chairs, and a funky-shaped bookshelf – the bookstore is also ADA-compliant, and aims to be a welcoming space to all, no matter what kind of books you’re into!
Dotters features book collections spanning art and lifestyle, anti-racism books, essays and poetry, graphic novels, memoirs, and more, with kids-focused collections including picture books, reads aimed at middle-school-aged kids, and young adult books.
In the past, Dotters has held story times with guest readers like local author and UW-Eau Claire professor B.J. Hollars and local elementary school staff, and others, though owner Margaret Leonard is the usual host of Story Time.
Enjoy two books at every Story Time, and bring your friends – big and small! Snagging one of the carpet squares in the store and getting comfy in the reading corner at Dotters Books.
