The Ghost Light Podcast to Shed Light on Local Theater Scene
monthly podcast is gearing up to pull the curtain back
There are podcasts for a variety of topics, so why wouldn’t there be one about the local theater scene? Eau Claire is full of thespians who are looking to express their acting abilities but don’t always know about the opportunities in the area.
Brian and Eric felt that there was not a lot of communication about the local companies besides the large theater groups.
“We sort of came to the realization together about how lucky we are to have such a robust, talented community theater scene in the Chippewa Valley. We saw an opportunity for building upon that foundation through community and collaboration,” the duo shared. “We hope that this podcast can bring together artists, performers, and all the talented people who work hard to create our little pocket of theater magic. We hope to be a vehicle that fosters new relationships, encourages collaboration, and strengthens our already incredible community.”
They are in contact with eight other local theater groups – including the one their podcast is named after, Ghostlight Players, based in Menomonie – to share the ins and outs. The podcast will be in close collaboration with Courtney, the executive director of the Ghostlight Players, along with the other players of the Chippewa Valley. The name just happened to be a fun coincidence, Brian and Eric said.
They will also be announcing community events, theater ticket giveaways, and various other tips and fun snippets from local performers.
Their first episode was released in mid-August, chatting about the production of Footloose and much more in its two-hour runtime. A preview episode is also online, posted at the end of July.
