‘HOW TO BE’: Mother-Daughter Duo Creates Workbook on Being in the Moment
the book is just the first of more to come and is currently available on Amazon
In the age of screens of all sizes popping up everywhere you look and face-to-face interactions less prominent than in previous generations, Eau Clairian mother-daughter duo, Justine Batz and Erika Hesperia, have created a creative workbook with the intention to teach people to be more in the moment.
The book, titled How To Be, is filled with entertaining activities to do either by yourself or with friends: Mad Libs, scavenger hunts, BINGO, journal prompts, and more. Due to the title, the whole book has a bee theme, including images created by Erika.
Justine had come to her daughter a few months back, asking her to create some art for a workbook idea. It quickly turned into a partnership between the two, and How To Be was created.
“I just realized that if it's not all (by) me and it's half me and half (Erika), it reaches that many more people,” Justine said. Not to mention, it gave the two much-needed time together, which is another aim of the workbook.
“The book is meant to make you laugh a little bit,” Erika said. “Getting someone else involved too. There’s a couple of things in here that are meant to be completed with a friend.”
Justine hopes to create additional workbooks including a book about happiness and another about traveling and, specifically, how to do so on a budget. How To Be prompted Erika to publish three more books, with drawings and entries from her dream journals, called Our Dreams.
