S. Carey to Open for Grammy Winner Bruce Hornsby at Pablo Center
tickets are now on sale for Oct. 18 performances
During his Spirit Trail 25th Anniversary Tour across the country, which includes more than 20 stops from New York to Texas to the Midwest, Bruce Hornsby will be coming to Eau Claire on Oct. 18 to perform with local legend, S. Carey, at The Pablo Center.
The rock and jazz singer is widely known for his three Grammy wins – a 1986 Grammy Award for Best New Artist with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, a 1989 Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Recording, and a 1993 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance – and his performances with The Grateful Dead, the Eurythmics, Huey Lewis, and more.
Hornsby's current tour is a celebratory one as Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers' album, Spirit Trail, turns 25 this year. The tour starts on Sept. 6 in South Carolina, taking him through the south and up into the Midwest. Along with the tour, each ticket purchased also includes a copy of the Spirit Trail 25th Anniversary Edition 3-CD set.
While mostly performances are solo on the tour (with the exception of the Sept. 8 and Sept. 24 shows) the Pablo Center performance is an extra special one, as Eau Claire’s own Sean Carey – professionally known as S. Carey – will be opening for Hornsby and his band.
Carey is known for his talents as drummer and supporting vocalist in the Grammy-winning, locally-loved band, Bon Iver, though his solo career has been met with wide acclaim as well, releasing his first solo album All We Grow in 2010.
Having grown up listening to Bruce Hornsby, Carey and Hornsby performing on the same night in Eau Claire will be overflowing with top-tier music and nostalgic vibes that the whole community can enjoy.
Tickets for the Bruce Hornsby show featuring S. Carey as opener can be purchased at pablocenter.org.
