OH THE PLACES YOU'LL SCOOT! The Local Store just launched its electric scooter rentals!

Not a bird, not a plane, but an electric scooter! Electric Bike Rental, out of The Local Store in downtown Eau Claire, is now offering e-scooters alongside e-bikes for the public to rent, and they say “it’s possible you’ve never had this much fun!”

With a fleet of 16 e-scooters, even large groups can get in on the action, and it’s the perfect way to have fun scootin’ around downtown with friends, family, co-workers, or just on your own. Available for two to four hours, rentals also come with a helmet, which riders are required to wear (safety first!). And all riders must be 18 years or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The fleet is made up of commercial-quality Segway Ninebot scooters. They top out at 18mph and can travel up to 35 miles per full charge, depending on usage style and the rider. One key detail: These aren’t the kind of scooters you just leave laying around anywhere that you sometimes see in big cities. For these scooters, riders must return them to the store by the end of their rental period, which means they’ll always be fully charged and ready for you.

The e-scooters are available to rent 9am-9pm Monday-Saturday and 9am-6pm on Sunday, right from The Local Store at Volume One World Headquarters (205 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire). Walk-ins are welcome based on availability, or make an online reservation at eauclairebikerental.com/scooters.
