Today – June 2 – is National Donut Day! Whether you call them donuts, doughnuts, or doh-nuffs (that’s what the word sounds like when you’re eating one), they are one of life’s supreme delights. One of the many questions we asked in our most recent Best of the Chippewa Valley Reader Poll is who has the best donuts around. Here are the three spots that rose to the spot among thousands of voters in the Valley:

1. Holy Donuts (Food Truck)

2. Festival Foods

3. Kwik Trip

If you’re looking to support small and buy doughnuts, Holy Donuts (Food Truck) (facebook.com/HolyDonutsWI) is your go-to! Take it from me, you’ll want to order one of each flavor (which are unique and 100% delectable), and you are not going to want to share a single one of those melt-in-your-mouth mini doughnut delights. If you’re already out for groceries, pick up some tasty doughnuts at Festival Foods (multiple locations) – you’ll know you’re in the right section by that hypnotic smell. And when you fill up your car with gas before work (we know you forgot last night), pick up some glazers and a coffee at Kwik Trip (numerous locations). Kwik Trip is tried and true, and their varieties offer a nice selection for any picky doughnut eaters. –Briana Novacek
