CHALKIN' IT UP. This year will be the 16th of Chalkfest, an epic campus-takeover at UW-Eau Claire filled with artists and their art, music, and more.

Held on the UW-Eau Claire’s campus along the Chippewa River, Chalkfest is comin’ back for its 16th year this July. Of course, it needs something vital and important in order to pull off its whirlwind-of-color displays: You!

Artist registration for Chalkfest 2023 – slated for Saturday, July 29 – opened this morning at 7am. Artists aged 12 and up welcome to show off their chalk skills. Younger artists are free to play and create in the free Family Area, too.

Just $20 lands you one full square of sidewalk (sizes vary) to bring your creation to life, while $35 pays for one full square, a 48-piece chalk set, and a cooling towel.

Artists will start crafting their creations as early as 7am on July 29, the public welcome to begin viewing the finished and in-progress art at 11am. Judging will take place from 3-5pm with winners announced at 5:30pm.

Registration will close at 3:30pm on Monday, July 24. Get thinkin’ on your epic Chalkfest 2023 idea now! More information on day-of happenings to come.

Chalkfest is presented by Volume One, Markquart Toyota, and UW-Eau Claire.
