SHORE IS TASTY! Eau Claire's first Jersey Mike's Subs location opened on Wednesday, May 24.

The much-anticipated opening of Eau Claire’s first Jersey Mike’s Subs will officially happen at 10am on Wednesday, May 24, at 945 W. Clairemont Ave.

Jersey Mike’s will celebrate with a multi-day grand opening – May 24-28 – and is also a fundraiser for The Community Table. The new sub shop will be running a coupon promotion offering buy-one, get-one free sub sandwiches with a minimum $3 contribution to the local organization, 5,000 coupons having been distributed to the community both through The Community Table and at random.

Franchise owner Bart Crockett and General Manager Franz Pape will head the grand opening alongside a full staff, prepared to meet locals and sling subs all day from 10am-9pm.

"(the juice) is what really makes jersey mike's stand out."

FRANZ PAPE

GENERAL MANAGER OF E.C. JERSEY MIKE'S

Jersey Mike’s offers hot and cold sub sandwiches, as well as the option to make any into a wrap or bowl. Pape offered his favorites as suggestions: the Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak (Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, lettuce, tomato with blue cheese dressing) and the Original Italian (provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami, and pepperoni).

Other options include classics like Ham and Provolone and the Club Sub, meatless options like the Portabella Mushroom and Swiss and The Veggie, and other varieties like the Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese Steak, Mike’s Famous Philly, The Super Sub, and more.

Bread options for sandwiches include white, wheat, rosemary parm, and Udi’s gluten-free bread. Jersey Mike’s also offers three sizes: mini, regular, and giant. Oh, and the “giant” isn’t the expected foot-long – it’s a 14-incher.

But what really makes a Jersey Mike’s sub stand apart from the rest? The juice.

“You have to get the juice,” Pape said. “It’s just not a Jersey Mike’s (sandwich) without the signature juice; the juice is what really makes Jersey Mike's stand out."

Available on its cold sandwiches and varieties, Jersey Mike’s “juice” is a combination of red wine vinegar and olive oil with spices, and it gives a signature Jersey Mike’s zing to any sandwich.

Jersey Mike’s will be open seven days a week from 10am-9pm, offering online ordering as well via the sub shop’s app and delivery through third-party services.

Eau Claire will welcome a second E.C. Jersey Mike’s location this October at 4732 Golf Road, also owned by Crockett.
