A taste of Jersey is officially landing in Eau Claire on Wednesday, May 24. According to a recent press release, Jersey Mike’s Subs will open the first of two E.C. locations with a multi-day grand opening and fundraiser to benefit a local organization. 

Franchise owner Bart Crockett and General Manager Franz Pape will host the grand opening of the coastal sub shop at 945 W. Clairemont Ave., from Wednesday, May 24, through Sunday, May 28. 

“Customers who receive a special fundraising coupon distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to The Community Table in exchange for a regular sub,” the press release states. “Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.” 

Crockett’s franchise group also owns Jersey Mike’s locations in Onalaska, Rochester, and stores in the East Minneapolis-St. Paul Market, the two Eau Claire locations soon joining the ranks.

The second location, 4732 Golf Road, is projected to open in October. 

While the Chippewa Valley has no lack of both local and franchise sandwich eateries, many have noted excitement for Jersey Mike’s arrival because of its gluten-free options, first implemented back in 2017. According to Jersey Mike’s website, all of its team members wear new gloves when handling rolls and use new knives and utensils when preparing gluten-free sandwiches, also prepping on parchment paper to avoid contact with gluten as best they can. 

The sub shop will be open seven days a week from 10am-9pm. Guests can place orders in-store or for pickup by ordering through the website or the Jersey Mike’s app, curbside pickup is available for app orders. Delivery is available in most areas through the Jersey Mike’s app or third-party delivery services.
