SOUNDS WRITE TO ME. The Chippewa Valley Writers Guild's new podcast, Writer's Note, interviews local authors and poets.

Ready to add a new podcast to your roster? The Chippewa Valley Writer’s Guild has a new podcast dedicated to interviewing some of the Valley’s most notable authors and poets. Run by CVWG intern, Matt Baughman, the podcast is cleverly named, Writer’s Note.

The point of the podcast is not only to shed light on some of the talent we have here in the Valley but also to help give writers – new or published – some insight into the craft and why it is so vital.

The first episode was released on April 7 and featured Max Garland, former poet laureate of Wisconsin and recent author of Into the Good World Again. The interview covered his work as well as his drive and focus when he writes.

Jan Carroll, also a local poet and pen behind the poetry collection Self-Portrait in Scraps of Paper, was the second guest on the show. Carroll shed light on her poetry process and how to get ideas down on the page.

Baughman said the podcast is going to have three 30-40 minute episodes, though a fourth is possible. The authors and episode publications will all be announced on the CVWG’s Facebook page and other social media. All episodes are available to stream on Spotify, SoundCloud, and Amazon Music.
