It has been a great privilege and honor to serve the citizens of Eau Claire as a firefighter for the past 26 years and as the Fire Chief for the past six years.

–longtime member of the Eau Claire Fire Department and current fire chief, announced his retirement on March 3. Bell’s retirement will go into effect on April 30. A new fire chief has not yet been announced.

Additional layoffs at the 3M plant in Menomonie happened this week as part of company-wide layoffs. ... A spokesperson with 3M said in Feb. 2023 that 53 workers were laid off in Menomonie.

WEAU news 13

–On March 8, news of more layoffs at the Menomonie plant hit. Prior to this spring’s layoffs, about 673 people worked at the 3M plant. (Quoted by WEAU.com on March 8).
