If you’re looking for some family — and delicious — fun on Sunday, April 2, then stop by the Brewing Projekt for the Local Market Bakers Pop-Up. From noon to 4pm, all sorts of local cottage bakeries will be present to offer a taste of their amazing, home-baked confections.

“It became an idea for all of us to get together, to try to create community together and support each other because we’re all doing the same thing,” said Jen Monroe, host behind the event and owner of Two Ovens of Eau Claire. “I feel if we all get to know each other and create that community, it can just be better for each other and for the wider community.”

Bakeries that will be at the event include 52 Bakery, with its pretzels and focaccia bread; Elder Valley Farm and Kitchen, which specializes in gluten- and dairy-free donuts, cookies, and scones; Rivka’s Challa, with its beautifully braided ropes of bread; Kaiserson Honey; Avenue Orchard’s jams and jellies; and even a young, new cupcake maker!

“It’s such a great opportunity to discover something new and support grassroots businesses happening in Eau Claire,” Monroe said.

It will be much like a regular farmers market, except it will be all baked goods. Not much sounds better for a Sunday afternoon of leisure, does it? So, stop by the Brewing Projekt for a treat or two on April 2.
