Bask in the true beauty of a Wisconsin winter by experiencing a candlelight event on Friday Jan. 27 from 6-9pm. Enjoy an evening of snowshoeing in Menomonie’s Riverside Park, hiking on the Junction Trail, and skiing on the Red Cedar State Trail – all of which will be lined with candles. State trail fees will be waived that night, giving anyone and everyone the opportunity to take in the sights.
A popular spot along the way is the ice wall on the Red Cedar Trail, which looks exceptionally beautiful when illuminated with candles.
After your venture, enjoy warm fires, hot cocoa, and prizes at the depot visitor center. Pets are not allowed on the groomed ski trail but are welcomed on the hiking trail. This event is hosted by the Friends of the Red Cedar State Trail and Hoffman Hills, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and ConAgra.
