New year, new Wisconsin initiatives! Our beautiful state’s Department of Tourism has long been committed to maintaining its natural beauty and sustainability efforts, and that commitment is going strong into the new year. Travel Wisconsin is offering a plethora of free programs in 2023 to highlight organizations and areas putting in the go-green work.
One of the new initiatives, Travel Green, is a free membership program for any tourism partners who demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by meeting the pledge criteria which fall under six focus areas: education, community, energy efficiency, transportation, waste reduction, and water conservation. The Travel Green Pledge gives organizations or businesses the distinction of being a Travel Green member, which is featured on the Travel Wisconsin website.
The Travel Wisconsin Accessibility and Diverse-owned Business Features will allow travelers to search Travel Wisconsin’s websites using those filters to easily find destinations and businesses that support their accessibility needs and support diverse-owned businesses on their trips. The filters are free and easy to add to your listings on Travel Wisconsin, where you can list your own business or destination online.
The Special Offers webpage is something travelers are uber interested in while lookin’ for travel destinations, often in search of special promotions, deals, and discounts. Travel Wisconsin has a free-to-participate-in dedicated page for such listings which orgs and businesses can be included by filling out the Special Offers form.
Visit Eau Claire is a partner of Travel Wisconsin and is featured as a Travel Green destination alongside five other Chippewa Valley spots: the Chippewa River State Trail; Lake Wissota State Park; Otter Creek Inn; Leinie Lodge; Country Inn & Suites by Radisson.
