The School District of Altoona launched “EduCast” on Dec. 6,  a podcast by local educators covering a variety of educational topics in public schools. Hosted by School District of Altoona Superintendent Heidi Eliopoulos, “EduCast” features guests within the district to highlight day-to-day operations in the Chippewa Valley area’s public schools.

“Our concept behind ‘EduCast’ is that it is a podcast that is by educators and for everyone,” Eliopoulos said. “We are not just an audio newsletter for the School District of Altoona. Rather, we discuss broad educational topics and concepts.”

The first episode of EduCast featured guest Sarah Radcliffe, the director of Future-Ready Learning in the School District of Altoona. In this exclusive interview, Radcliffe discusses the academic and career planning programming in the district that helps students reach their long-term goals.

Eliopoulos plans on recording and uploading two podcasts a month, with the next episode being published in late December. This one will be centered around the role of co-curriculars in students’ lives and will feature multiple guests from within the School District of Altoona.

EduCast is part of Eau Claire Hometown Media, a group that produces podcasts and discussions focused entirely on Eau Claire and the Chippewa Valley. It can be found on Spotify, Anchor, Google Podcasts, RadioPublic, and Copy RSS, as well as the Eau Claire Hometown Media Anchor page.
