Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. Bryan Kosciolek is an artist living in Chicago. In 2017, he received his BFA in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
“Internet Friends” (2021) 15”x15” digital by Bryan Kosciolek • Kosciolek spent 2021 living and working in Eau Claire. This was a very difficult time for the artist. Seeking a new beginning, Kosciolek moved to Wisconsin for a new job and to start a new chapter in his life. The pandemic made it damn near impossible to connect with anyone within the local community. Luckily, we live in a digital era! This composition illustrates Kosciolek connecting to his friends and family across state lines via the Internet. The silly mess that is group calls between friends and family is illustrated through this chaotic composition. In summary, compassion for others through the means of the Internet.
