“Red-Billed Toucan” (2022) 16” x 20” acrylic  From the artist: “Someone much smarter than me once told me, ‘Versatility is good for your well being.’ I think it might be the healthiest lesson I’ve learned about being an artist. In the last year I’ve moved from comics, to digital art, to paintings, to polymer clay earrings (don’t judge me), to stained glass. This particular piece is from my bird series that I’ve been poking at for a better part of a year. At the very least, I’d like to think that all my work at least speaks the same language and it undoubtedly is very much an extension of myself.”

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
