An Eau Claire-based company has received a national innovation award for its cloud-based logistics software that helps crowdsource delivery drivers.

Elite EXTRA won a Bronze awards in the “Productivity Solutions” category at the annual Edison Awards, which were held in April in Fort Myers, Florida. The awards, which began in 1987, were named for inventor Thomas Edison, and are given out for game-changing products and services as well as excellence and leadership in innovation.

“Elite EXTRA won for its Delivery Network software, which solves driver shortages in the last mile by calling in crowdsourced and courier fleets to help augment product deliveries,” the company said in a media release. “Delivery Network is part of a suite of customizable software developed by Elite EXTRA to ease last mile delivery challenges.”

“We are extremely honored that our team was recognized with an Edison Award for a technological solution that helped move the supply chain during the pandemic by easing delivery driver shortages,” said Jim Ward, founder and president of Elite EXTRA. “We are humbled to be among such transformative and innovative companies that are devoted to making the world a better place.”
