ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! New rankings from the Princeton Review list UW-Stout’s game design and development art program as No. 7 nationally among public universities and colleges, out of a pool of 150, No. 26 overall in the U.S., and No. 1 in Wisconsin. The Master of Fine Arts game design program also has been ranked No. 6 among public universities and colleges and No. 21 overall – moving up three spots from last year’s rankings.

The undergraduate BFA in the School of Art and Design contains six distinct programs, while the MFA offers six focus areas – game design and development being key programs in both. UW-Stout’s related Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science have already held high ranking for the past decade.

Students in the game design and development programs were slated to present more than 60 different projects at UW-Stout’s Stout Game Expo on May 2. According to UW-Stout, the expo is meant to showcase a variety of projects, including “board games, mobile games, computer games, 3D environments, virtual reality games and more.”
