The Eau Claire City Council is inviting members of the public to offer their two cents about the two finalists to be Eau Claire’s next city manager.

Earlier this month, the city announced that the field has been narrowed down to two: Stephanie Hirsch, an operations administrator in the Eau Claire County Department of Human Services, and David Solberg, the current interim city manager and city engineer.

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the two candidates engaged in separate virtual discussions with a panel of community leaders, including David Minor, president and CEO of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce; Pa Thao of the Black and Brown Womyn Power Coalition; Marilyn Skrivseth, a retired UW-Eau Claire faculty member; Merry Price, president of the board of the Eau Claire City-County Health Department; Benny Anderson, executive director of Visit Eau Claire; Michael Johnson, superintendent of the Eau Claire Area School District; and Jake Wrasse of the UWEC chancellor’s office.

Residents are invited to check out videos, which together run about 2 hours, on the city website. Then, if they’re so inclined, residents are invited to offer feedback on the candidates via this online form

However, you should act quickly: The videos and the feedback form will be amiable only through noon on Friday, Feb. 25.
