Put your hands up! Them Coulee Boys recently released their latest music video from their latest album Namesake on Feb. 10 – this time for the closing track “Hallelujah.” Lead singer Soren Staff said the song is less straightforward than their previous singles, as the song and video blends contemplative themes with otherworldly visuals.

“ ‘Hallelujah’ is a meditation on grace and the ways we seek comfort when we’ve lost control,” Staff said. “We look for escapes, even if they hurt until we find one that works for us. Is it really grace if you ask for it? I wanted to explore the ways we seek stability when we need it most.”

The music video was shot by local duo Sarah and Erik Elstran, whom Them Coulee Boys gave complete creative control to for the project. Initially, the song wasn’t going to make the cut for Namesake, but after some encouragement from producer Brian Joseph, the song was recorded a few weeks after the group initially ended tracking for the record.

With the new music video out, Them Coulee Boys will now set their sights on touring the album through the summer prior to focusing on recording a new studio album.

The music video for “Hallelujah” by Them Coulee Boys is available now on the band’s YouTube channel.
