In the depths of winter, one way to warm up is to think about what you’ll be doing next summer. For thousands of music fans across the Valley – and beyond – that means rocking out in a field outside Cadott at Rock Fest.

Today, the gang at Rock Fest have given these fans some fuel for their summer fantasies, announcing the lineup for what’s billed as the “largest three-day music and camping evening in the U.S.” Headliners for the July 14-16 fest include Shinedown, Disturbed, and Evanescence. Among the 70-plus bands on the bill are other big names, like Mudvayne, Halestorm and Lamb of God.

Rock Fest 2020 was canceled amid the first wave of the pandemic, but roared back to life in 2021 with a sell-out year. Fest promoter Wade Asher said the experience “reinvigorated” organizers.

“While planning for this year’s festival, we stumbled on a new study that said when we watch a concert together, our hearts beat in sync,” Asher said in a media release. “We felt that. 2021 reminded us that live music is alive and thriving. We saw so many hugs. Total strangers met and left as family. This festival is so much more than music; it’s a catalyst for healing. Let’s feel it again.”

Here are some highlights from the schedule announced Thursday:

  • Thursday, July 14: Disturbed, Lamb of God, Theory of a Deadman, Avatar, Hatebreed, Spiritbox, Ayron Jones, and more!
  • Friday, July 15: Evanescence, Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless, Nothing More, Black Veil Brides, Escape the Fate, Butcher Babies, and more!
  • Saturday, July 16: Shinedown, Mudvayne, Jelly Roll, Skillet, Motionless in White, Starset, Shaman’s Harvest, and more!
  • The fest begins with an exclusive kickoff party for three-day ticket holders on Wednesday, July 13, featuring Warrant, Lita Ford, FireHouse, and more.
