You know that feeling when you’re sitting on the couch, DoorDash pulled up on your phone, hungry but unsure what you want? You can try the doughy Chinese delights called bao, available from Wow Bao, which operates out of the kitchen at Fazoli’s in Eau Claire.

The eatery most notably features bao – or a type of filled bun similar to a dumpling – as well as Teriyaki chicken bowls, potstickers, Kung Pao chicken, orange chicken, dumplings, and more.

Wow Bao has many locations all over the country, but created their Wow Bao Now ghost kitchens when they saw a spike in online ordering during the beginning of the pandemic. Wow Bao is now available from more than 500 restaurant kitchens around the U.S. – including Eau Claire!

Over the past few years ghost kitchens (or dark kitchens) have made a surge around the country. What exactly is a ghost kitchen, you ask? Great question! They are essentially restaurants-within-restaurants. Wow Bao cooks up goods specifically for delivery only, meaning it's a convenient way to try something new.

Other ghost kitchens in Eau Claire include Hongdae Korean Eats, which operates out of Shanghai Bistro, and Burger Boys, which operates out of Randy’s Family Restaurant.
