Get Your Pen and Paper Ready: Registration Now Open for Annual Priory Writers Retreat
three-day literary retreat slated for June 23-26

Calling all writers: The Chippewa Valley Writers Guild is excited to announce the second annual Priory Writers’ Retreat, slated for June 23-26, 2022. This three-day getaway, which takes place at The Priory Conference & Retreat Center – once a monastery – includes opportunities to write, listen to literary craft talks, and workshop writing in progress.
“This summer is poised to be our best yet,” said B.J. Hollars, executive director of the Chippewa Valley Writers Guild in a press release. “We’ve worked hard to bring participants more flexibility than ever before. We want to empower writers to personalize their experience to ensure that there’s something for everyone.”

This year, take a leap of faith and book a one-on-one conference with one of four award-winning authors: Nickolas Butler (fiction), Barrett Swanson (nonfiction), Angie Trudell-Vasquez (poetry), and Nicole Kronzer (young adult). Various pricing options are available – including options with and without lodging and meals – starting at $260.
This summer's retreat also features a new menu in partnership with SHIFT Cyclery & Coffee Bar and The Brewing Projekt. “We want both local and out-of-town writers to enjoy the best that Eau Claire has to offer,” Hollars said.
Applications open Jan. 1 and close Feb. 1.
