RETURN OF THE REVENGE OF THE AWAKENING OF THE GEEKCON. UW-Eau Claire's annual student-organized event, GEEKcon, is back on, and focusing on an array of nerdy and geeky pastimes that you might want to keep in your back pocket for the next plague.

Pandemic quarantine time has left people taking up no shortage of new hobbies – bread baking, downloading TikTok, watching Tiger King (and wondering the age-old question: Did Carole Baskins actually kill her husband?) – or maybe collectively singing along to the new Bo Burnham comedy special on Netflix, Inside. 

UW-Eau Claire's annual GEEKcon is ready to show off those pandemic pastimes with their annual showcase of hobbies, talents, and passions, ranging from e-sport and LEGO enthusiasts to cosplay and comic book experts. GEEKcon showcases the best of local geeks and nerds, giving local folks the chance to connect with others with similar interests – or maybe pick up a new hobby!

This event will be held from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the third floor of the UW-Eau Claire Davies Center with the theme: “Return of the Geeks: Back and Nerdier Than Ever!”

Peruse the hobbies, talents, and interests of UW-Eau Claire students and community members, while enjoying live entertainment in The Cabin. After last year’s virtual event, organizers are excited to gather back in person. 

Organizers ask that community members donate a recommended $3 or two non-perishable food items for the Campus Harvest Food Pantry. Students with a valid student ID can enter for free.
