Ginger-snap! ‘Tis the season to submit your gingerbread creations to the Chippewa Valley Museum’s annual gingerbread contest – but this time, it’s a contest that’s from a galaxy far, far, away. (We guess you could say it’s out of this world …)

Bakers are encouraged (but not required) to create Star Wars-themed entries to celebrate the museum’s incredible new exhibit, Star Wars: The Nostalgia Awakens, which is open to the public through Dec. 31. Participants can submit their gingerbread houses from Nov. 1 through Nov. 20. The registration fee is $5 per entry.

The 2021 contest will be a hybrid format that allows viewers to participate online or in-person at the museum in Carson Park from Dec. 4 through Dec. 18. All entries will be exhibited online, and you can vote for your favorites in categories such as “Best History Themed” and “Best Star Wars-Themed” gingerbread houses.

Only in-person submissions are eligible for awards, which will be selected by the judges on Dec. 4.
