Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley is holding its 18th annual summer Hike for the Homeless fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Beacon House family shelter and its case management programs. This year’s 2.8 mile-long hike will be held at 6pm Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Altoona’s River Prairie Center. Everyone is welcome!

The route is family friendly, and there will be prize drawings along with face painting, lawn games, food trucks, and a photo booth. Lace up your sneakers and come out for a hike to make a difference. Register and donate online beforehand, or sign-up on Aug. 17 starting at 5pm.

Family Promise’s mission is to provide temporary housing and support for local families struggling to afford a stable home. In 2020, the organization supplied shelter and services for 52 children in 27 families.
