Are you a college student at UW-Eau Claire or UW-Stout? Well, hey! If you have your COVID-19 vaccine, you’re eligible for a slew of sweet prizes.

The UW-System is starting “70 for 70,” a campaign to encourage COVID-19 vaccination within student populations. From Aug. 2 to Oct. 15, at each campus, excluding UW-Madison, once 70% of students are vaccinated, a portion of 70 scholarships will be awarded.

Students at UW-Eau Claire are eligible to enter the Vax Game 2021 giveaway event by uploading their vaccination card. Prizes include Apple iPads, Apple Watches, $100 gift cards and 50 $1,000 scholarships. UWEC students can learn more about the offerings here.

UW-Stout will provide additional matching scholarships and vaccinated students will be eligible for Blue Devil gear, gifts from local businesses, daily gift cards and more. In the coming weeks, a UW-Stout vaccine incentive webpage will provide the latest information on campus vaccination clinics, daily prize drawings and the grand scholarship prizes.

UW System will not require students to be vaccinated. The 70% threshold was chosen based on estimates about the percentage of the population needed to reach herd immunity, which represents those who are vaccinated or who already had the virus and indicates a minimal level of communitywide protection.
