The Next Fests: Country Jam, Rock Fest Lead the Pack

Missing the music? Six local festivals are still on the slate this summer

The last year has been a roller coaster, so jamming in a big field with a few thousand of our closest friend is just the therapy that music lovers need. The Chippewa Valley’s usual slate of music festivals has roared back for the summer of 2021. A couple of them (including Country Fest) are already in the rearview mirror, but there are still some big ones to look forward to – including a couple this very weekend! Here’s a rundown:

1. Rock Fest

July 15-17 • Rock Fest Grounds, Cadott • rock-fest.com

The rock returns to the Chippewa Valley this weekend after a one-year hiatus because of you-know-what. The fest features performances by Rob Zombie, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Staind, Danzig, of Mice & Men, and more. Campsites and VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission tickets are still available on the Rock Fest website.

2. Country Jam

July 15-17 • Country Jam Grounds, Eau Claire • countryjamwi.com

Country Jam 2021 is back with a diverse lineup of 20+ acts on three stages. Headliners include Old Dominion, Chris Young, and John Pardi, while Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Rodney Atkins will be hitting the Country Jam stage for the first time.

3. One Fest Christian Music Festival

July 23-25 • Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, Chippewa Falls • one-fest.com

OneFest wil showcase 14 bands (national and regional), ministries and vendors, and many family friendly activities. National artists include Danny Gokey, Rend Collective, Micah Tyler, 7eventh Time Down, and more. Also featuring Aaron Scott (2020 The Voice contestant) from Tomah.

4. Blues on the Chippewa

August 7-8 • Memorial Park, Durand • bluesonthechippewa.com

Featuring a lineup of blues favorites like People Brothers Band, Annie Mack, Jackie Venson, Avey Grouws Band, Howard "Guitar" Luedtke & Blue Max, Joyann Parker, Larry Taylor, Terry Quiett, and St. Paul Perterson & the Minneapolis Funk Allstars.

5. Ashley for the Arts

August 12-13 • Arcadia • ashleyforthearts.com

Hosted by Ashley Furniture, this massive charity event hosts world-class music, kids activities, arts & crafts fair, family fun, and more. Music lineup features Jefferson Starship, Toby Keith, Switchfoot, Barenaked Ladies, and Foreigner.

6. Blue Ox Music Festival

August 19-21 • Pines Music Park, Eau Claire • blueoxmusicfestival.com

Founded in 2015, the Blue Ox Music Festival is an intimate music festival of folk, bluegrass, Americana music. The 2021 lineup features Pert Near Sandstone, Shakey Graves, Molly Tuttle, Eau Claire’s own Them Coulee Boys, and more.
