One local snackery aims to create beautiful – and delicious – spreads of meat and cheese eats for locals to enjoy starting this summer.
Clear Water Charcuterie opened its doors for business on June 1, operating out of Forage’s shared kitchen space in downtown Eau Claire. Owner Molly Dove – originally from Detroit, Michigan – relocated to Eau Claire in 2019 for the vibrant local community and beautiful outdoors – as well as for love, she said, as her now–fiancé also lives in the Valley.

Having hosted and served her own guests for years, Dove used the alone time provided by the pandemic to experiment with charcuterie spreads – which led her to launch her social media-based biz.
“It’s about finding a beautiful way to balance hard and soft cheese,”she said, “different colored meats, textures and experimenting with shapes and layouts.”
In creating her charcuterie spreads, Dove gathers inspiration from both her mom and aunt, as she says bringing people together over food is a family tradition. “(They are) always putting out the most lavish spreads and appetizers and hors d’oeuvres and making beautiful meals for people,” she recalled.
Using food sourced from local retailers, Dove offers a variety of different boards, boxes, and spreads. Each order is fully customizable. Dove hopes her boards can provide something for families and friends to bond over and enjoy as people begin to come together again.
